Appointments range from 1.5 to 3 hours depending on braid complexity, length, and hair density. We work methodically to detangle without damage, so please allow full time for a thorough restorative process and scalp treatments.

Our technique focuses on gentle detangling, minimizing mechanical stress and breakage. Some loose shedding of naturally detached strands is normal, but severe breakage is unlikely when performed by our trained stylists using restorative products and careful sectioning.

We use our Royal Chi hydration system, nutrient-rich conditioners, slip-enhancing detanglers, and restorative serums designed for textured hair. All products prioritize moisture, protein balance, and scalp health to ensure safe removal and optimal recovery.

No pre-wash is required; our Royal Chi cleanse is included. However, if you have styling products or excess buildup, a light pre-wash can help speed the process — otherwise arrive as usual and we'll handle the rest.

We typically recommend waiting one to two days so hair and scalp fully recover after steam and hydration. This allows cuticles to settle and moisture to distribute evenly, creating a stronger foundation for braids, locs, or protective styles.

Our service is tailored for both braid and loc deconstruction. We adjust techniques for locked hair, prioritizing unraveling where appropriate, detangling, and scalp restoration to protect texture and integrity whether removing braids or taking down locs.
